At MCR Pathways, we know that all young people are talented. However, our country’s care-experienced and young people who have experienced disadvantage face challenges beyond their control that make it more difficult for them to succeed. These young people are in our communities but we don’t always see their struggles. As a community, we can change this.
We recruit and train volunteer mentors who are matched with a young person based on personality, hobbies and career aspirations. Mentors meet with their young person at their school for just one hour a week and provide a compassionate, listening ear. You can mentor in either Clydebank High School or Our Lady & St Patrick's High School.
The main aim of mentoring is to support a young person to achieve all they can in life and, once they leave high school, go into employment, college or university. Don't hesitate to sign up today!
With mentoring taking place in two West Duns schools, you should pick a school which is close to your home or work. MCR doesn't cover travel expenses, so, when outlining which school is most convenient to you, please take this into consideration.
People must be aged 21 or over. No qualifications are required. All you need is a good listening ear and to be there for a young person each week.
