We are currently recruiting volunteers to our Nursing Support Role at Robin House.
Those applying must have experience in nursing or care. This can be through studies & placements, work (eg nurse or carer) or a personal experience of caring for someone with multiple care needs. A Scottish Moving and Handling Passport would be great but we can provide M&H training if the applicant doesn't have this.
The babies, children and young people we care for at Robin House have complex medical needs that require 24 hour care. For families coming to stay we support the families by offering 24 hour care for their child.
The role involves volunteering within our nursing team supporting them with caring and practical tasks. We do not ask Nursing Support Volunteers to carry out any medical or clinical procedures such as PNs or suctioning.
Volunteers will be involved in duties such as playing with children, personal care, support at meal times (if appropriate).
If you would like to chat about this role further you can phone or email Nicola 01389 722053 nicolaporciani@chas.org.uk
Robin House is situated beside the back gates of Balloch Country Park. We have plenty parking including disabled parking.
If travelling by public transport there are buses and trains with a 10 - 15 walk from the nearest bus/train station.
We happily reimburse volunteers for their travel expenses to and from the hospice. Details will be given as part of your induction.
