Vale of Leven Hospital Tea Bar Volunteer

We are looking for support with our very popular hospital tea bar. Our volunteers will work alongside the local church networks volunteer team to run this valuable community resource.

Key Tasks:
1)Welcome all patients & visitors coming to the tea bar
2)Engage with patients & visitors by chatting and providing a listening ear where appropriate
3)Help manage the cafe space, keeping it clean and tidy, observing hygiene standards
4)Prepare and serve refreshments
5) Ensure correct payment taken and change given
6)Manage stock such as drinks and snacks to ensure an adequate supply at different times of the day
7)Help foster a relaxed and welcoming environment
8) Work with hospital staff to run the café effectively ensuring good communication on café requirements

This opportunity is accessible by public transport. Reasonably agreed travel expenses will be reimbursed.

No formal experience is needed, but some experience of customer service can be helpful. You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organisational skills, patience and empathy, an ability to work confidentially, and an ability to work independently. Our volunteers also need to be reliable and have a caring manner. Min age 16 years.
