The role of the Meet and Greet Volunteer is to offer a friendly welcome and provide direction and information to patients, families and visitors.
Knowledge of where services are located within the hospital complex are required. The role involves moving around the hospital and so the volunteer requires to be reasonably fit and able to walk/stand throughout the shift. The post holder will record the number of people they assist.
The volunteer requires a friendly personality, be reliable and have excellent time keeping skills. The ability to communicate clearly, especially with distressed, anxious or worried patients and relatives is essential. The desire and commitment to help patients and visitors to the hospital is a requirement of this role.
