· Understand the importance of play in child development

What we aim to achieve:

Volunteers support identified families for 2 hours a week with the challenges that come with parenting, this would involve helping the family to understand the importance of attachment between parent and child by showing parents how to play and engage with their children and demonstrating how this is an important part of the child’s development and to spend quality time with their children.

There is also the opportunity to help families take part in local communities by using resources such as Book Bug and toddlers groups etc. All volunteers will be trained in Book Bug and Play @ Home Scotland, Child Development and further opportunities for learning.

Volunteers are fully supported in their role through monthly supervision and travel expenses are provided.
