Silverton and overtoun community council

Silverton and Overtoun Community Council

Community Councils are established in Scottish law to ascertain, co-ordinate and express to local authorities and other public authorities the views of the community which it represents. Each CC has a maximum number of councillors, based on the population of the CC ward boundary ,and elected every 4 years. Generally in West Dunbartonshire CC's meet monthly; all meetings are open to the public , and are attended by West Dunbartonshire Councillors for our ward, and police officers.. We can advise on planning matters, transport issues, and a wide range of issues of public concern. At present our CC is not meeting live due to our venue being closed, and insufficient councillors accessing zoom or similar; but we still welcome any queries. At present there are vacancies for councillors, which will be decided at our next AGM, hopefully sometime next year.
